Premier League 2012 |
|
ATTENTION:
2/7/12: The schedule for Premier League has been changed as follows:
1) The Season will end on 2/18.
2) There will be 2 games for each team on 2/18.
3) The Game Schedules, Referee Schedules AND
Volunteer Schedules have been updated to reflect these changes.
These changes will allow the season to be 10 games long and give the Region 9 staff two weeks off to prepare for 2 or 3 long weekends for the Pot O' Gold Tournament.
Practice Schedules for Premier, All-Star and Extra teams are now available.
Team Volunteer Schedules are now available. If there is a change in Game Schedules, or if games are added after February 4th, the Team Volunteer Schedule will be changed to reflect the modified Game Schedule.
Game Schedules (searchable by Team, by date, by Division) and the Teams List are now available.
The current Game Schedule has 8 games per Team over 4 weeks (1/14 - 2/4), however, there will be games every
Saturday - unless fields are closed due to rain.
Should we have no rain-outs during the entire season, each Team will play additional
"Bonus Games" on 2/11, 2/18, 2/25 and 3/3 at 9:00 am or 10:00 am. You will need to
check the website for updated Schedules,
but what will happen is that games that start with "01P" would be repeated on 2/11, "02P" would be repeated on
2/18 (with 9:00 am and 10:00 am game times rather than 11:00 am and noon), "03P" on 2/25, and "04P" on 3/3.
Rainouts: Should a Saturday get rained out in weeks 1-4, that day's schedule will be moved to the first available Saturday after week 4. For example, if week 2 is rained out, the 1/21 games will be played on 2/11. If weeks 2 and 3 are rained out, the 1/21 games will be on 2/11 and the 1/28 games on 2/18. Bonus games will NOT have make-ups.
Bottom line: Check the Game Schedules each week if we have had a rain-out, and after 2/4. We will play every Saturday through 3/3 except for rain-outs.
Region 9 Scheduling Application
(username & password required) is now available.
This is the same web-site used by Region 9 referees during the Fall season. Instructions can be found at
Referee Scheduling page.
Team Referees who did not do games in Region 9 last Fall need to make sure they are in our
scheduling database at Ref Info.
Additional information for Premier League Referees (new and returning) can be found here. Referee Schedules are based on the Game Schedules. If the Game Schedule changes (see above) the Referee Schedules will also change. Contact Chuck Huffer if you have questions about self-scheduling.
Field Maps for practices (Premier League and All-Stars) and games (Saturday Premier League, Sunday Adult League) are now available.
Premier League Coaches list.
After the regularly scheduled season families get busy with the holidays and many children move on to other sports. What do you do if your child still wants more soccer?
Premier League stresses skills and fun for players in the U7 through U19 age groups. This program is run by Region 9 and has no advancements to other levels. The number and size of teams we field depends on the amount of adult support we receive. Sorry, but Premier League does not have teams for the very youngest (U6) players.
We expect that children who are selected for All-Stars or Extra teams or who play for Club teams will not play in this Premier League so they can devote their time and talent to one team.
New this year: Coed U16 and U19 teams! For the first time we are going to offer the opportunity for these divisions to participate in Premier. We are heavily relying on word of mouth in order to get enough players for these divisions; so please “talk it up”.
Fee: The fee is $70 per player. Players will receive game jersey, shorts, socks and Premier League T-shirt. Refunds will only be accepted through January 14, 2012. NO Exceptions!
Game Dates: All games will be played on Saturdays, with the first games January 14th. Weather permitting, each team will play 8 games prior to the end of the season in early March. We have built several extra weekends into this year's schedule so that, in the event of rain-outs, every effort will be made to make sure the children will still get their 8 games.
Practices: The first practices will begin the week of January 9, 2012 and will be scheduled Monday through Friday. Each team will practice once per week. U7 & U8 practices are 60 minutes; U10 - U19 practices are 90 minutes.
Location: All games and practices will be held at the Conejo Creek South soccer fields in Thousand Oaks, on the southeast corner of the 23 freeway and Janss Road. (Click here for a map: Conejo Creek South)
Players: Children that played during the regular season in U7, U8, U10, U12, U14, U16 and U19 divisions will be placed in the same age grouping. Players joining for the first time will be placed based on their age as of July 31, 2011. There will be no "playing up" or "playing down" into different divisions, so please do not ask for such requests as they will not be honored.
Coaches: Coaches are selected based upon prior experience, interest, ability, prior completion of AYSO training and/or certification and support of the AYSO philosophy. Every effort will be made to have a variety of coaches from Region 9 and from other Regions.
Referees: Each team will be required to provide one (1) referee.
If you are an AYSO-certified Referee from outside of Region 9 and would like to Referee during the
Premier League, you need to make sure that you are in our Referee Scheduling database (this is
not the same as eAYSO!). Go to
http://www.ayso9.org/Region9_2004/RefInfoUser.asp
and enter your AYSO ID# and your last name to see if you are already in our system. If not, fill in all
the information on the form on that web page and click the Add button at the bottom of the page.
Team Volunteers: Every team is REQUIRED to provide Adult Volunteers twice during the Premier League season. Like the regular season, these volunteers are critical to ensuring that our players have a fun and safe soccer experience. Team Volunteers will be assigned jobs as needed. Each team must send two (2) volunteers for each shift and we ask that they check-in at the Information Booth at least 10 minutes prior to their assigned times.
Registration is closed! The deadline was December 5th, 2011.
U7 & U8: Boys Teams play 8 v 8, Girls Teams 6 v 6 (due to the number of registered players); 20 minute halves, games are governed by the same rules that were used in the regular season in Region 9.
U10: Teams play 7 v 7, 25 minute halves, games are governed by the same rules that were used in the regular season in Region 9.
U12: Teams are co-ed playing 11 v 11, 25 minute halves.
U14: Teams are co-ed playing 11 v 11, 25 minute halves.
U16 - 19: Teams are co-ed playing 11 v 11, 25 minute halves.
