TRYOUT DETAILS

2017 TRYOUTS

Tryouts to form the 2017 AYSO United teams are scheduled for the week of March 6th, 2017. Players will be asked to attend two tryout sessions, with a possibility for a third invitation only session.

Tryouts are open to all players. There is no charge to players who were registered in AYSO in the Fall 2016 season. Non-AYSO players will be asked to pay a $10 fee to cover insurance and costs and complete a non-AYSO player release form.

Tryouts are held at Conejo Creek South fields.

HOW TRYOUTS WORK

Players should check in for their tryout session at least 15 minutes early. Each player needs to bring 2 copies of their Tryout Form when checking in. Players will be issued a pinnie, and a number to attach to the pinnie. They will use the same number for both nights.

Tryout sessions will be approximately ninety minutes in length. They will be led by professional trainers or coaches. Players will be grouped according to age and gender. Independent evaluators will assess the players, and rate them on specific criteria including ball control, passing, shooting, trapping, game sense, and positional play. Players will also participate in short sided scrimmages. The highest rated players will be given the opportunity to register for the AYSO United team.

Players should anticipate that the tryouts will be competitive in nature, and not all players will make the team. Players who are not selected for an AYSO United team will be encouraged to play in the AYSO core program, and will be given a special preferential enrollment date and time.
