Region 9 Goals and Fields

Conejo Park and Recreation Department has placed restrictions on AYSO in order for us to be able to use goals for practices. Their concerns are related to safety, vandalism, liability, and field wear and tear. After some negotiation we are now able to allow goal access for our practices with proper management. Please follow the steps below:

Goals

1. Do not share the code with anyone. If someone asks for it, they need to contact me.

2. After unlocking a goal, relock the chain and do not leave the combination visible on the lock. We do not want    the code to visible for non AYSO groups.  Also, chains/locks have been stolen.

3. The goals are strategically placed for your convenience for practices, Saturday morning set up and for easy field maintenance for CRPD. Each of the light poles where the goals are locked, have a number posted (1-13) Each of the goals also have a number and should be locked back up accordingly.  (goals with #7 are locked to the light pole with #7) Some light poles will have 2 goals and others will have 4 goals. It is imperative that each goal is secured to the designated light pole.

4. If another coach has practice on your field after yours and asks you to leave the goals in place, make sure they are  with AYSO and they know where the goal needs to be secured. If they don’t know the code OR the process, just lock the goal back up. (See #1 above)

5. If you see other user groups attempting to take or use one of the AYSO goals the answer is no. There are CRPD goals that are provided for other permitted user groups. Those groups are provided with a separate code for the CRPD goals. (the goals with orange nets)

6. If you are the last practice of the night, please look around and if you see any unsecured goals secure them to the designated light pole.  If you notice coaches leaving goals unsecured remind them to lock them up. Feel free to advise me of repeat offenders).

Game Days

1.
10U – 14U – all of the goals have wheels and will be unlocked in the morning.  It is the responsibility of the first teams in the morning to roll the goals into place and put up the corner flags.   It is the responsibility of the last teams in the afternoon to wheel the goals back to the designated light pole.  (Goals with #7 to light pole #7, #6 to #6 etc.) and pull the corner flags and the field number flag and place them in the middle of the field.  The goals roll easy as long as the wheel locks are in the down position.

2.
6U – 8U.  For 6U & 8U first teams in the morning have the responsibility to install nets and place the corner flags.  The last teams in the afternoon are responsible to take the nets down and place them in the middle of the field along with the corner flags and field flags.  For 7U, first teams put up the small bow net goals and corner flags. Last afternoon games take down the small nets, put them in the bags provided and put in the middle of the field with corner and field number flags

Fields

  • Please be sensitive to the wear and tear on the fields.  Stay away from worn areas during your training sessions.  Use the best grass giving the worn areas a change to recovery.
  • A CRPD condition for allowing us to use goals is that we will only place the goals on the goal line for full field scrimmages and games.
  • If your training activity involves shots on goal, again, move the goal away from the Sat goal (penalty) area.
  • Every little effort will contribute toward preserving the fields!
  • Please make sure that your players pick up their trash.

Thank you for your help and cooperation so that all coaches can continue to use the goals for practices and our fields will stay in the best condition possible!!
