Volunteer Fingerprinting

Use the instructions below to get fingerprinted at a local LiveScan location.

There is an updated list of local Live Scan locations; click on "Live Scan Locations" at the top of that web page. When you get the scan, be sure to confirm that it is for AYSO Region 9.

WHY?
As of January 1st 2022 a new California State law (AB 506) requires all regular volunteers in California to have a one-time background check as approved by the California Department of Justice to exclude individuals with a history of child abuse. This form of background check requires live scan fingerprinting.

WHO?
According to the AYSO National office, this law applies to Coaches, Assistant Coaches, Referees, Team Managers, and Board Members. ONCE ONLY FOR LIFE!

Review your cert records in Sports Connect. If your records show that your Fingerprinting California Only Status = "Verified" then you do not need to be fingerprinted again.

HOW?

Step 1. Register an appointment

AYSO National has partnered with a company called Applicant Services. To get fingerprinted, each Region 9 volunteer must first register at:

https://www.ApplicantServices.com/AYSOACC
The cost of the fingerprinting will be billed directly to Region 9.

1.Enter your Email address (Same as one used for AYSO Account) to set up and account. A login code         will be sent to that email account.
2. Select your Region number from the drop down "10E9".
3. Complete the online form. Required information includes:
* Your name (as it appears on you drivers license or other government-issued ID)
* Date of birth
* Gender
* Address
* Cell phone #
* CA Drivers License Number (You drivers license will be checked at the Scan Site)

Step 2. The Appointment (Scan Site)

Finger printing is performed at the beginning of our Volunteer meetings.
Coach's Meeting, Team Manager's meeting, and Referee Meetings.
Review "IMPORTANT DATES" to get the days times and locations of these meetings. There are 5 opportunities.
