Volunteer Fingerprinting

Updated 9/8/2023
There will be 4 opportunities for new Region 9 volunteers to get fingerprinted before the Fall 2023 season begins (a California requirement for all volunteers):
July 18th, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm
July 20th, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm
August 10th, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm

August 30th, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm

All at the same location:  Los Robles Greens Golf Course, 299 S. Moorpark Rd, Thousand Oaks, CA 91361

You must register in advance at
The location for our region will be listed 1 month prior to the date, on June 18th for July 18th and so on.
Select "Get Fingerprinted at an AYSO Event" for one of these local opportunities.
If you cannot attend one of these 4 dates, use the instructions below to get fingerprinted at a local Livescan location.

If your Sports Connect volunteer record shows that your Fingerprinting California Only Status = "Verified" then you do not need to be fingerprinted again.

As of January 1st 2022 a new California State law (AB 506) requires all regular volunteers in California to have a one-time background check as approved by the California Department of Justice to exclude individuals with a history of child abuse. This form of background check requires live scan fingerprinting.

According to the AYSO National office, this law applies to coaches, assistant coaches, referees, team parents, and board members.

AYSO National has partnered with a company called ApplicantServices.  To get fingerprinted, each Region 9 volunteer must first register at:
If you use this link, the cost of the fingerprinting will be billed directly to Region 9.
There is an updated list of local Live Scan locations; click on "Live Scan Locations" at the top of that web page.

Select "Get fingerprinted at a LiveScan Service Center".  Currently there are no "Service Centers" in Thousand Oaks or Newbury Park; the closest ones are in Agoura, Moorpark and Simi Valley.

1.  Enter your email address (same as your AYSO Account!) to set up an account with Applicant Services; a login code will be sent to that address.
2.  Select your Region number: "10E9" from the dropdown list.
3.  Complete the online form; required information includes your legal name (as it appears on your drivers license or other government-issued ID), date of birth, gender, address, cell phone, and CA Drivers License number.  Your drivers license will be checked at the Scan site.

Please note that Livescans are not transferrable from another organization, so you need to perform this process for each applicable organization you volunteer with, but the good news is that this is a one-time requirement.
