To become an AYSO Coach you will need to follow the steps below:

Step 1:  You need to complete the AYSO Volunteer Application and take the online Safe HavenConcussion Awareness, Sudden Cardiac Arrest and Safesport training.

a)  Register as an AYSO Volunteer in Sports Connect as a HEAD COACH (for your child's Division); be sure that you have eSigned the application!  Detailed instructions can be found on the Region 9 website at https://www.ayso9.org/Default.aspx?tabid=866537
b)    Complete Safe HavenConcussion AwarenessSudden Cardiac Arrest and Safesport training online using the  AYSOU training website.  You must also be fingerprinted.

Please Pre-register for any of the Region 9 Coach classes at the same AYSOU website as you used for Safe HavenConcussion Awareness, Sudden Cardiac Arrest and Safesport.

Safesport - this is a new required course for all AYSO Volunteers as of 2022.  Click here for detailed instructions on how to register for Safesport, to ensure that you get AYSO credit for completing the online course.

You must take the 12U Coaching Training Pre-Course online at AYSOU before you can take the 12U Coach In-Person Course (New!)

You must take the 12U Course before you can take the Intermediate Course
You  must take the Intermediate Course before you can take the Advanced Course

If you are unable to attend any of the available Coach courses offered by Region 9, you may also complete the required training at a neighboring AYSO Region.  Look for courses in Section 10, Area E (eastern Ventura County); Section 10, Area W (western Ventura County); or Section 10, Area V (San Fernando Valley).

Make sure you receive a Completion Certificate – or you might need to retake it 🙁
