How to Register for the Fall 2019 Core season:

Go to the Region 9 website at:

If you are new to AYSO Region 9, click on the Register Now button in the upper right corner of the Region 9 home page for both Player Registration and Volunteer Registration.
If you created a User account in Blue Sombrero previously for a Player and/or Volunteer, click on Login with the same username and password as last year.

Click here for detailed instructions on how to complete online player registration.
Note:  only youth players are "Participants" in Blue Sombrero.  Adult Volunteers are not Participants; they are "Volunteers".

  • Online Registration for the Fall 2019 season will open beginning April 1st.
  • Walk in registrations are being held 9am to 1pm on Saturday April 13th (at the Thousand Oaks Teen Center) and on Saturday May 18th (at the Conejo Creek South Community Meeting Room).
  • After completing the online registration of your child(ren), print the Player Registration Form(s) and bring to one of the two events.  If your child did not play for Region 9 last year, be sure to also bring a copy of the birth certificate.
Out of necessity, our registration fee has increased to $145.00.

Please also note:  AYSO Region 9 is able to function only because of volunteers.  We will only be able to form as many teams as we have parents who step up to volunteer to be a Head Coach, so while you are registering your child, take the opportunity to register as a Volunteer (we also need Referees, and Assistant Coaches).  Please take a couple of minutes to read (or re-read!) the Volunteer Registration Instructions The steps to follow may not be readily obvious.
Note:  only youth players are "Participants" in Blue Sombrero.  Adult Volunteers are not Participants; they are "Volunteers".

It is very, very important that you remember to print the Player Registration Form(s) and bring to one of the two Walk-In registration events in-order for your child to be considered for placement on a team.

A player evaluation (not a tryout) is required for all players who were not registered in Region 9 last season and who were born between December 31st. 2001 and January 1st. 2011.  The evaluation must be completed before a player will be placed on a team.  Evaluations will be held on May 18th at the Conejo Creek South soccer fields.  Bring the child equipped with shin guards and a soccer ball (size 4 for children born in the years 2008 through 2011 or size 5 for children born in the year 2007 or earlier).

Added 4/24/2017:  Please make sure that your Participant/Player's first and last name, gender, and date of birth are correct on the Add New Participant web page before you click the Continue button.  Once you click that button, you cannot make any correction ... nor can we at the Region level!!!  We have to contact our National office to make corrections, a process that takes 24-48 hours.

If a player has tried out for or will be trying out for an Extra team, do not select a "Core" Program Division unless you have been notified that your child was not selected for either Program.  Extra players will be receiving instructions for registering in those programs.

Registration is open to everyone.

Region 9 is a 100% VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATION. Your participation is needed to make the season successful!

Click on the appropriate link if you have a player who is trying out for the EXTRA Program.
