(added 9/4/2019) - field training for new U8 and Regional Referees who have completed the online Regional Referee course via AYSOU will be held Thursday September 5th at 6:30pm at the Conejo Creek South soccer fields.  Meet near the snack bar/meeting room building.  Pre-register via AYSOU, In Person Courses, Referee Instructor Led Courses, and either 8U Official Course or Regional Referee Online Companion Course.

(updated 8/23/2019)
To become an AYSO Referee you will need to follow the steps below:

Step 1:  You need to complete the AYSO Volunteer Application and take the online Safe Haven and Concussion Awareness training.

a)  Register as an AYSO Volunteer in Blue Sombrero (NOT eAYSO as in years past); be sure that you have eSigned the application!  Detailed instructions can be found on the Region 9 website at
If you are a returning Region 9 volunteer (i.e. you completed a Volunteer application last year for Region 9, for any Volunteer job) then you are done.
If you are a new Region 9 Volunteer, print out one (1) copy of the completed and eSigned Volunteer Application and bring that to the first class session.
Youth Referees (younger than age 18) need to complete a Youth Volunteer Application, to be signed by a parent or legal guardian, and returned at a class or meeting.

b)    Complete Safe Haven and Concussion Awareness online using the  AYSO U training website.  From the Region 9 Home page click on AYSOU in the main menu, and login with the same Username and Password as you use for logging in to Blue Sombrero (Player and Volunteer Registration program).  Select My Courses, then Open the free course you want (AYSO's Safe Haven or CDC:  Concussion Course).  Complete each course.  Bring the printed completion certificate to class. Referee badges cannot be issued until Safe Haven and Concussion Awareness have been completed.
