2025 Thousand Oaks Referee Training Schedule For U7/U8

At Region 9, we have U7/U8 Referees take the Regional Referee Online Course, and then come to the Fields for a Companion Course made specifically for Region 9 U7/U8 Referees.
THE "AYSO U8 Official" Course IS NOT SUFFICIENT to Referee in Region 9!
Here is how to sign up for 7U/8U Referee Training:

| Note that to become certified as an AYSO Referee, you must take BOTH the Regional Online Portion AND the Companion Portion of the Regional Referee Online + Companion Course. No, the Annual Region 9 Meeting is NOT either of these. Since 7U/8U on-field training will differ significantly from 10U/12U/14U on-field training, follow these steps: |
| 1. | Log on to the AYSO9 website |
| 2. | Click "Account" in the upper right hand corner where the silhouette is. |
| 3. | Click "Volunteer" on the left menu. |
| 4. | Your list of completions should pop up on the screen (use a PC for this, not your phone, if possible, as everything I'm typing assumes a PC). |
| 5. | Click the AYSOU button. |
| 6. | Wait patiently for AYSOU to automatically log you in. |
| 7. | Click "Training Library" on the left menu. A LOT of Course Categories will pop up. |
| 8. | In the "Refereeing" Category, click "View Courses" button. |
| 9. | Click the "Regional Referee Online + In-Person Companion Course" |
| 10. | Take the Online Course, pass the test. |
| 11. | The in-Person ("On-field," "Companion") portion will take place every Wednesday at 5PM, meet under the shade structure near the Snack Shack. Show up when you are available. |
You will receive a Uniform Voucher at the end of the on-field session.
When your safety courses are verified as completed, you will be given an ID and password for the Referee Self-Scheduling System.
When your safety courses are verified as completed, Your badge will be handed out on Week One (September 6, 2025) at the Referee Tent at the CC South Fields.

Referee Kit (Uniform) Vouchers (free!) redeemable at BK Sports (in Newbury Park) will be distributed AFTER THE REQUIRED REFEREE ON-FIELD TRAINING for Region 9 Referees who complete the course. Note: Women's and children's sizes will be available! Shirts, shorts, and socks, as well as a whistle and a Match Report Wallet.
